VETERANS IN SCOTLAND

08 Dec 2022

Last week Gillian and Antony swapped their dusty workshop gear for glad rags to attend the Veterans’ Housing Scotland’s Annual Review at Edinburgh City Chambers.

They were there to hear more about their new campaign to secure 25 more homes by 2025. The Edinburgh-based charity has over 100 years’ experience, and have provided over 650 affordable homes throughout Scotland, helping around 1,000 veterans and their families. The campaign aims to raise awareness for the work of the charity while securing further homes for disabled veterans by 2025, the 110th anniversary of Veterans Housing Scotland. You can find out more here.

Having served in the armed forces, Antony understands just how important and life-changing this service is.

Prior to the dinner, Antony met with the charity’s CEO Kevin Gray and Support Manager Stephen Elliot to explore ways we can work together to provide trades training and qualifications for veteran tenants, or would-be tenants. More to follow on this exciting partnership in the new year.
