Meet the team

Antony

With over 25 years experience of tiling and property development, Antony teaches tiling and leads our training team. With both a trades and military background, he has first-hand experience of transitioning between careers. He is passionate about helping others develop their careers. He runs our tiling support groups, providing ongoing technical support to our students. Outside of work, you'll find him tinkering in the workshop or walking his dogs Jacob and Daisy.

Immy

Tiling Instructor - Immy is an instructor and assessor, teaching our Wall & Floor Tiling courses. With a relaxed approach, patience and an eye for detail, Immy's one-to-one tuition is described by students as “excellent” and “always on hand to help”. He also completes tiling work outside of his teaching role, keeping his skills up-to-date and bringing his knowledge back to the team. Outside of work Immy enjoys keeping fit in the gym as well as cycling to and from work.

Jane

Enquiries - You'll find Jane in the office - often with her dog Bernie sitting on the desk! She has a detailed knowledge of our training and can help with any enquiry. Jane makes sure our qualifications and exams run smoothly and helps with our after-course support. When not in the office you’ll find her helping in the workshop or renovating her own property – she’s currently our silicone expert! Our students describe Jane as “fantastic”, “knowledgeable”, “reassuring” and “friendly”.

Gillian

Business Development - One of our Directors, Gillian deals with business development. As well as developing courses and qualifications, she is focused on quality assurance and improving our students' journeys, from initial enquiry to after-course support. She also loves learning about the trades and helping out in the workshops. In her spare time Gillian loves vegan cooking, sometimes making treats to test out on the team and our students!

Matty

Tiling Instructor - As one of our tiling instructors, Matty really puts the ‘training’ into training school. When he’s not instructing our tiling students, you’ll find him training at Lochend Boxing Club. After boxing professionally for just over 2 years, he recently won the Commonwealth Super-flyweight Title. Matty manages to balance his boxing training with his teaching career and excels in both. He's highly respected both at the school and in the boxing ring.

Alex

Plumbing Instructor - Part of our plumbing team, Alex is a qualified assessor and Internal Verifier. Alex brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, having started his career in plumbing before spending over 20 years at North Glasgow College as a Senior Lecturer and Curriculum Leader. Alex assists us with course development and qualifications He also carries out on-site assessments for more experienced students. Otherwise, you’ll find him on the golf course!

Iain

Plumbing Instructor - Iain is an instructor and qualified assessor in our plumbing team. As well as teaching our plumbing courses, he runs his own plumbing business and brings that experience back to the team. As well as having an in-depth knowledge of plumbing, Iain has a natural talent for teaching, also coaching a football team in his spare time. He knows how to bring out the best in his students. Our students have described him as “fantastic' and “a great trainer”.

James

Plastering Instructor - James teaches our plastering courses as well as running his own plastering and property development company. His passion for teaching is evident, both at the school and on-site where he often take students for work experience. James’ students describe his teaching skills as “absolutely superb”. Highly experienced in his field, James is also a qualified assessor. When he's not teaching or working on-site, you will find him on the golf course.
